For August 13,2015
One time, our teacher in Creative Writing introduced this game called Word Sorcery. It's a pretty simple game but you need to analyze a bit because the words are really tricky. Wanna try?
Instructions: Unscramble the letters of the word to form a new word. You can't add or delete a letter from the original word.
Example: rule = tempt
* The new word must be synonymous with the word 'tempt'. What could the new word be? Let's find out.
The answer is...
* lure
From the word 'rule' we unscrambled the letters and formed the new word 'lure' which means 'to tempt'.
You got it right!
Now, try these.
1. list = deposit of sand and dirt
2. open = often a laborer
3. seam = a high table land
4. beat = help
5. oils = cylindrical tower for storage
6. time = small amount
7. atom = a ditch
8. rave = declare
9. sure = trick
10. coin = religious image
11. fire = widespread
12. evil = disgusting
13. wary = twisted
14. large = kingly
15. poses = squad of men
16. broth = beat
17. baser = cavalry sword
18. brace = sour
19. throw = angry
20. use = appeal formally to a person for something
